If you want an incredibly beautiful all-round knife that stays sharp and is rust-free, then this is an excellent choice.
I have made this series from stainless VG-10 steel with a damask finish. It is named after the lesser-known name for “damask,” that is Suminagashi. A super stylish all-round knife that anyone can handle and that you can use for most tasks you encounter in the kitchen.

Damascus, Damascus, Suminagashi – a beloved child has many names. These words refer to the same forging technique, where steel is folded or layered to create a unique pattern.
Many associate Damascus steel with unparalleled quality, but the truth is that the number of layers does not make the knife better – it is primarily an aesthetic detail. And what a detail! It gives the knife an exclusive and captivating look that really stands out.
In an industry full of buzzwords and sales hype, I would rather give you the plain truth and share my passion for knife craftsmanship. That is why I have created the Sumi series – named after the ancient Japanese word for Damascus pattern, Suminagashi. A series that doesn’t promise magic, but delivers top-class craftsmanship.
I have used the Santoku shape both as a professional chef at Geranium and in my own home kitchen. It is a knife you will quickly become addicted to – versatile, precise, and incredibly easy to work with.
To ensure that your knife lasts for many years, I recommend:
The Sumi Santoku knife is made for those who appreciate true craftsmanship. Every detail has been carefully thought out to give you a knife that is as functional as it is beautiful.
